VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach fire officials say one person was injured during a high-rise structure fire Monday afternoon.

We're told that firefighters responded to the fire in the 2500 block of Atlantic Ave. around 1 p.m.

The first engine arrived on scene of a multi-story structure minutes later and noted smoke showing in the pool area.

Crews were able to contain the flames with a fire extinguisher and the fire was full contained at 1:18 p.m.

There was one civilian injury and no firefighter injuries.

There's no word yet on what sparked the flames. No other details have been released at this time.
