VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The City of Virginia Beach reminded people of the danger of Rabies as a raccoon that attacked a dog was being tested for the disease.

The city's main Facebook page said the encounter happened Wednesday at the 62nd Street Entrance of First Landing State Park on the north end of the park.

The posting told readers if anyone or any pets in their households had any exposure to stray or wild animals in that area within the past few weeks they should contact their doctors or contact Virginia Beach Citizen Services at 757-385-3111.
