VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A sinkhole opened up near the city landfill in Virginia Beach.

The road caved in off of Centerville Turnpike, not far from Regent University. A city official told us the hole is at least 30 feet deep and opened up sometime over the weekend.

A small building fell into the hole. We're told a woman was inside that building just before the collapse, but was able to get out safely.

The landfill is closed until further notice.
