VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia State Police have arrested Daniel Christopher Reynolds after a standoff situation ended peacefully.

It all began around 5:15 Sunday when a state trooper pulled over a Nissan Xterra on I-264 at Lynnhaven Parkway. A spokeswoman for VSP says Reynolds was speeding, going 80 mph in a 55 mph area.

Police say as the trooper tried to collect the suspects information, but Reynolds sped off. He then barricaded himself inside a shed on North Streamline Drive.

Police tactical teams were called to the scene.

We're told officers left just before 1 a.m. Monday. Reynolds now faces charges for reckless driving by speed, driving while suspended, felony evade and elude, failure to obey red light and provide false information.

According to Virginia State Police, Reynolds was also wanted for failure to appear by the city of Virginia Beach. He remains in jail without bond.
