VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- STIHL Inc., the manufacturer of the number one selling brand of chainsaws, is expanding its headquarters.
The expansion includes a new administration building and other campus improvements.
“STIHL Inc. has been an important corporate partner to Virginia Beach and the Commonwealth for over 40 years, and it is a powerful testament to our talent pipeline and competitive business climate for this global company to again reinvest in Virginia,” said Governor McAuliffe.
The company currently employs nearly 2,000 people.
The expansion will cost STIHL over $20 million.
The groundbreaking is set for early 2018. The company hopes to move in the new building in 2019.
