VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Virginia Beach School Board members decided not to move forward with modifying school start times.

According to Eileen Cox, the spokesperson for the school system, the discussion around a change to school start times in the city was prompted earlier this year by medical research which showed that adolescents learn better when they begin school later in the day.

The Board members decided to revisit the conversation in three to four years, as it will allow them more time to explore financial needs and other operational considerations.
