VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A Virginia Beach man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with his mother's death.

42-year-old James Twyman II was arrested in New York City earlier this month after a police officer found him inside a stolen car on Park Avenue. After looking into Twyman, it was found that he was wanted for a probation violation. He was taken into custody and charged as a fugitive of other state-federal charge.

Twyman's mother, 72-year-old Olive G. Twyman was found dead inside her home located in the 2200 block of Cape Arbor Drive in Virginia Beach on October 9.

Beach police say James Twyman II has been charged with second-degree murder. He is being held at the Virginia Beach Correctional Center without bond.
