VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Lynnhaven Parkway is back open, following a gas leak that shut down an entire section of the Virginia Beach road on Wednesday.
According to dispatch, construction crews hit a gas line shortly after 11:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Lynnhaven Parkway, causing the leak.
Nearby homes in the vicinity of Lynnhaven Parkway and Indian River Road were evacuated as a precaution.
Virginia Natural Gas crews made repairs to the line, and on Thursday morning, Virginia Beach Police tweeted that all lanes of Lynnhaven Parkway were back open.
