VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A pipe burst inside the Virginia Beach SPCA Monday, causing a power outage and significant damage to the organization's network server.

As of 4 p.m. on Tuesday, the power and phone lines have been restored after the pipes above the information technology room burst.

The SPCA closed down on Monday, but they are expected to reopen and return to normal business hours on Wednesday, January 10.

According to the Communications and Marketing Manager, Mike Lawson, during the incident parts of the building along Holland Road left without power, they also were without water.

Many people in the community were generous and dropped off blankets, towels, comforters and over 60 gallons of water.

Lawson indicated the pipe burst was related to the weather.
