FRISCO, N.C. (WVEC) -- A person visiting Hatteras National Seashore died Wednesday after friends and family pulled him from the water.

Boone Vandzura with the National Park Service told 13News Now that the friends and relatives found the 43-year-old floating in the water. Once they got him to land, people on the beach began performing CPR.

Paramedics got there after someone called for help around 12:30 p.m.

The man who died was visiting the Outer Banks from out of state.
