KILL DEVIL HILLS, NC (WVEC) -- One Fourth of July fireworks celebration has been delayed in the Outer Banks.

Fireworks in Kill Devil Hills will not happen on July 4, but instead on Friday, July 7.

Town leaders say North Carolina-certified fireworks technicians are becoming scarce, and they couldn't find a vendor for the traditional celebration.

Instead, Pyrotechnico -- a fireworks company from Pennsylvania -- will light up the sky.

You can see the fireworks from the Avalon Pier. If July 7 is rained out, a makeup date is scheduled for the following evening.
