COROLLA, NC (WVEC) -- If you're going to the beach in Currituck County, you may soon find some new restrictions on where you can park.
On Monday night, the Currituck board of commissioners voted to require permits during summer on the off-road section of the county's beaches. The new ordinance applies to the 14-mile stretch of beach from Corolla village to the state line.
You'll need a permit from the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day. Parking is free for the rest of the year.
People who live in Currituck County can get free summer permits.
No word yet on how much the permits will cost or when they will be available.
