ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WVEC) -- Police arrested two people Thursday for breaking into several cars in the area of Cedar Street in Elizabeth City.

Officers were dispatched to that area where they found a number of vehicles broken into due to them being left unsecured.

18-year-old Jesean Brown and an unidentified juvenile were taken into custody.

Brown was allegedly connected to a group of reported vehicle break-ins that dated back to Sept. 2017.

Brown was charged with 31 counts of felony breaking and entering motor vehicle, one count of felony larceny and one count of possession of stolen goods.

Charges for the juvenile are currently pending.

Brown was given a $33,000 secured bond and is being held at Albemarle District Jail.
