NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Patient First Neighborhood Medical Center will scan your kids' Halloween candy for free this year!
Starting Oct. 27, bags of candy may be brought into any of the neighborhood medical center's locations from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The offer expires Oct. 31.
While the X-ray is designed to detect things like glass, metal or plastic, parents are still encouraged to provide supervision since some foreign materials may not appear in the X-rays.
In addition to examining candy, the medical center is also offering safety blinkers for children to wear on their costumes for increased visibility while trick-or-treating.
