NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A teenager was taken to the hospital after he was shot in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday night.
The 17-year-old victim was walking on Albert Avenue toward Sewells Point Road when a vehicle pulled up and someone from inside opened fire.
Police say the incident happened around 11:30, and the teen was struck multiple times.
The teen was able to walk to his friends house on the 6600 block of Sewells Point Road, where he called police.
He was then taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment, and is expected to recover.
No other injuries were reported.
Police also discovered that a home on the 6600 block of Sewells Point Road was struck by a stray bullet.
Detectives have not released any description of the gunman, of motive for the shooting.
They say it appears to be an isolated event.
