HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WVEC) -- Three local Gymboree stores are expected to close with the other 350 closing stores nationally.

The children's clothing retailer plans to close its stores as it restructures in bankruptcy. Gymboree and Crazy 8 are the primary stores owned by the company that will be closing.

Closing sales are expected to begin Tuesday, July 18.

The San Francisco based company will have more than 900 locations after the stores are shut down.

Gymboree joins a growing list of retailers to announce the closing of some stores as mall traffic declines from competition from online retailers intensifies.
