ACCOMAC, Va. (Delmarvanow.com) -- 911 cell phone service has been fully restored on the Eastern Shore.
The outage happened Wednesday morning and affected cellular calls made to emergency responders in Accomack County. Officials urged residents to use a landline phone to reach emergency services.
"Verizon Wireless is experiencing issues that may impact cellular 911 telephone calls in Accomack County," The Eastern Shore of Virginia 9-1-1 Commission said in an early Wednesday morning news release.
Shortly before noon, officials reported, "functionality is back to normal."
911 cell phone service was also disrupted Tuesday morning for several hours.
