WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (WVEC) -- Wallops Island Flight Facility is preparing to launch the Orbital ATK Antares rocket on Sunday.

The rocket was raised into the vertical position on a launch pad at the facility Friday.

The rocket will deliver over 51,000 pounds of science and research, crew supplies and vehicle hardware to the orbital laboratory and its crew.

Antares is scheduled to launch on Sunday, October 16, no earlier than 8:03 p.m.

Sunday's launch will mark Orbital ATK's sixth contracted cargo resupply mission with NASA to the International Space Station.
