ACCOMACK COUNTY -- Virginia State Police say a man was killed when a charter bus struck him as he tried to cross Route 13 in Accomack County early Tuesday.
Deputies were called to an area just south of Perdue Farms poultry processing plant just before 8 a.m. after a passerby spotted the man's body and called police.
The preliminary investigation revealed the incident occurred around 3 a.m. when a United Bus & Travel Inc. bus hit 66-year-old Brice Sauver, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya with Va. State Police.
The bus driver, 36-year-old Jihua Chen, stopped and searched around the immediate area of the bus before leaving the scene, she added.
Chen, who lives in Flushing, NY, was brought back to Accomack County to face charges and he was given a $15,000.00 secured bond.
Sauver lived in Accomack County.
