WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Williamsburg police are investigating the death of a College of William and Mary student found unconscious early Saturday morning.

Major Greg Riley with Williamsburg Police tells 13News Now authorities responded to the 100 block of Matoaka Court around 1:20 a.m. after receiving a report of an unconscious person.

After assessing the 20-year-old male, responding police and medics determined he needed advanced treatment and took the man to Riverside Doctor's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2 a.m.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, but say there was nothing suspicious about the man's death.

The "Flat Hat" - the student newspaper at William and Mary identified him as Tiancheng “Austin” Zheng. Their article said: "Zheng, who was from Suzhou, China, worked as a teaching assistant with the New Channel Education Group, helping professional English instructors in Test of English as a Foreign Language and SAT classes before moving to the United States for college."

The cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner.
