WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- Health officials in Williamsburg are looking for a dog that bit a person Oct. 4 in the Monticello Woods subdivision.

The Peninsula Health District says the dog is small, with short and dark hair. If the dog is not found, the victim may have to undergo post exposure shots for the prevention of rabies.

Officials say the dog will not be taken away from its owner, only confined in-home for a 10-day period.

Anyone that may have seen the dog is asked to call the Peninsula Health District at 757-603-4277.
