WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WVEC) -- A Williamsburg man is dead following a crash on Interstate 64 Sunday morning.

Just before 5 a.m., State Police say 22-year-old Christian Medina-Rodriguez lost control, ran off the road, and over corrected. That caused his vehicle to overturn onto the passenger side and strike a tree.

The passenger, 21-year-old Axel Gabriel Quintana Cruz, died at the scene.

Medina-Rodriguez was flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It's not known if alcohol was a factor in the accident at this time.
