ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- Authorities arrested man accused of calling in a bomb threat at the Isle of Wight County's Circuit Court clerk's office in July.
Anthony Highsmith, 42, was arrested outside the Young-Laine Courthouse Thursday morning and faces felony charges in connection to the bomb threat called in on July 5.
He was in the courthouse for a traffic-related matter.
The threat was cleared after the Isle of Wight County's Circuit Court clerk's office had to be evacuated the morning of July 5.
Police say the threat was called in at 9:30 a.m.
Lieutenant Tommy Potter of the Isle of Wight Country Sheriff's Office gave the all clear around 2 p.m. the same day.
All offices located in the Young-Laine Courts building were evacuated.
Highsmith is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond and faces charges, including threats to bomb or damage a building and use of a phone or other device to threaten or intimidate.
