NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured one person Thursday afternoon.
Emergency Communications received a 911 call around 4:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Catina Way.
On the scene, officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest and leg. The man was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police currently have one possible suspect in custody.
Officers are still working to learn more about the incident.
