NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Newport News police investigate a shooting incident after a 19-year-old walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Emergency Communication was alerted to the teenager walking into the hospital around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
The fresh wound on his chest was considered to be non-life threatening. A family member drove him to the hospital.
According to police, the victim was uncooperative and refused to talk with officials. He was later released from the hospital.
Police received a call about gunshots in the area of Aqueduct Apartments around 1 p.m. Authorities found several shell casings at the scene.
Police are still investigating.
