NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Three people have been arrested after police found guns and drugs during a traffic stop Monday evening.

An officer pulled over a vehicle near 36th street after they noticed it did not have functioning license plate lights.

25-year-old Elonte Harris was driving the vehicle, 26-year-old Teresa Bailey and 18-year-old Knowledge Yarabough were also in the car, along with four young children.

The police K-9 unit arrived and found narcotics prompting the officers to ask everyone to get out of the vehicle. While detaining Yarabough, officer found a handgun concealed in his waistband. A check revealed that the gun was stolen from someone in Hampton. Another handgun was found in the glove compartment, belonging to Bailey.

Bags of cocaine were found on Bailey and Harris, who was also driving with a suspended license.

Harris has been charged with Possession of a Firearm by Felon and Possession of Schedule I or II Drugs, Possession of a Firearm with Schedule I or II Drugs, and Driving while Revoked.

Bailey was charged with Possession of Schedule I or II Drug and Possession of Firearm with Schedule I or II Drug.

Yarabough was charged with Receive Stolen or Aid in Concealing Firearm and Concealed Weapon.
