NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- On Monday night, some of Hampton Roads most passionate democratic supporters gathered at Waterside to give their candidates one last push before Election Day.

Ralph Northam, Justin Fairfax and Mark Herring all entered the room to the sound track from the movie 'Rocky'.

It was a message, they are treating this election like a heavy weight fight, standing up to Ed Gillespie and President Trump. Governor Terry McAuliffe was right alongside them.

“Mean spirited, racist, bigoted ads, we will not tolerate that here in the Commonwealth of Virginia,” said McAuliffe.

Northam, who is running against Gillespie for governor, said he just doesn’t want to keep Virginia blue, he wants to make it bluer.

“We are literally watching a clown show up in Washington, so it is incumbent for everyone to take this energy to the polls tomorrow and never let happen what happened in 2016,” said Northam.

Justin Fairfax, candidate for Lieutenant Governor, said this Democratic ticket has the potential to change the course of history.

“I predict when we win Virginia, Virginia is going to be the match that sparks the wildfire of progressive change all across this country and all across the world and that’s what you all are doing,” said Fairfax.

While Attorney General Mark Herring listed all the accomplishments made for this state and why he deserves another term.

“Do you want to continue to have an attorney general who will fight for you? Do you want to have an attorney general whose powers of the office are on the side of the people,” said Herring.
