Former President George H.W. Bush's state funeral

President Bush, who died Friday at the age of 94, will be given a state sendoff at the Washington National Cathedral, just three miles from the White House. His son and former President George W. Bush will deliver the eulogy.

Wednesday is a National Day of Mourning in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, as foreign dignitaries, former presidents, and current President Donald Trump attend the funeral of the nation's 41st president.

Bush, who died Friday at the age of 94, will be given a state sendoff at the Washington National Cathedral, just three miles from the White House. His son and former President George W. Bush will deliver the eulogy.

At 10 a.m. ET, Bush’s flag-draped coffin will be removed from the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol, where he has been lying in state since Monday.

The coffin will be transported by hearse to the Washington National Cathedral, where the service will begin at 11 a.m. and run for about an hour and a half.

After the service, Bush’s body will depart the cathedral at 12:30 p.m. for nearby Joint Base Andrews, where it will be flown back to Houston for additional services.

Bush will lie in repose at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston Wednesday night.

The next morning, his body will be taken by train to College Station, Texas, where he will be buried alongside his wife, Barbara, who died earlier this year, and daughter, Robin, at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
