TV series 'Jamestown' debuts on March 23

The show portrays a fictionalized story of three women as they arrive in the English colony.

JAMESTOWN, Va. (WVEC) -- An 8-part miniseries, called Jamestown, will debut in the United States on Friday, March 23 on the PBS MASTERPIECE Amazon Channel and PBS Passport.

The drama set is in historic Jamestown in 1619. It portrays a fictionalized story of three women as they arrive in the English colony.

A new episode will be available each Friday exclusively on streaming. The PBS MASTERPIECE Amazon channel is included with Amazon Prime subscriptions.

The show was produced by Carnival Films, who also produced Downton Abbey.

Jamestown originally debuted in the U.K. on May 5, 2017.
