VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- A woman and three children were injured after they were hit by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, just after 5 p.m. a gold 2006 Nissan was turning left onto Doctor Drive when the driver lost control and struck a bicycle carrying a woman and three children.
According to police the woman was riding the bike and pulling the children in a trailer. All four were taken to a local area hospital with injuries. Two of the children are expected to be okay, but the woman has serious injuries and the third child's injuries are life-threatening.
The 84-year-old driver, David Cherry of Virginia Beach has been charged with reckless driving.
The ages of the woman and children have not been released.
Cherry stayed on scene and police say alcohol is not a factor.
