The 2007 live-action Disney musical Enchanted was something special. So it's no wonder Disney has been looking to recreate that magic with a sequel.

So what's the deal with Enchanted 2? Well, here's what we know about the film...

First, a refresher on Enchanted.

The movie stars Amy Adams as Princess Giselle. She's a naive fairytale royal who intends to marry goofy Prince Edward (James Marsden) in her animated world, but winds up in live-action New York City where she learns what love really means and falls for a single father, Robert (Patrick Dempsey). Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) and Nancy (Idina Menzel) are involved. And so is plenty of Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken-composed music, often sung in the street. It's a fantastic movie.

There's a new director.

Hairspray director Adam Shankman confirmed on Twitter that he's been tapped to direct the sequel. Kevin Lima (Tarzan) directed the original movie.

Is Adam Shankman planning to direct the 'Enchanted' sequel? He tweeted, "its trust."

It will take place 10 years later.

According to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, the sequel will take place a decade after the first movie ends, with Giselle "finding herself questioning her happily ever after."

It has a title.

THR and Variety report that the movie, which will take place in both the real world and the animated kingdom of Andalasia (where Prince Edward and Nancy got married), will be called Disenchanted.

Amy Adams is excited about it.

"I really embrace and look forward to what they do (with the Enchanted sequel) and hope to be involved," said Adams in an interview with E! earlier this year.

Amy Adams seems game to star as Princess Giselle again. She played that role nine years ago.

The plan is to have it shot in 2017.

THR reports that Disney is hoping to have the film begin production by summer 2017.

Disney did not confirm specific reports on the planned movie.
