N.C. (WVEC) -- The Nags Head Police Department and the Kill Devil Hills Police Department have made an arrest related to a series of break ins.

On Thursday, 27-year-old Taylor Riell of Currituck County was charged with 7 counts of Felony Breaking and Entering and 7 counts of Felony Larceny.

The two police agencies believed the similarities between the crimes in their counties were tired to the same person.

Riell would break into homes during the daytime, with no forced entry and only take cash. She gained access to the residences by either finding unlocked doors and windows or by using a code she's been entrusted with through her job at a local cleaning service.

She would target exclusively vacation rentals on the ocean side or between the highways.

Seven houses in total were robbed, 6 in Nags Head and 1 in Kills Devil Hills.

She was placed under a $14,000 secured bond.

Police were able to identify Riell because a witness noticed her actions and reported her to law enforcement.
