It's been a great marriage, but it's coming to an end. Lowe's will no longer sponsor Jimmie Johnson and the #48 car after 2018.
Lowe's came on board in 2001. Together with Johnson it proved one of the most iconic relationships in motorsports.
Johnson has claimed a record seven Cup Championships. Five of those title came consecutively in 2006-2010.
Going forward Lowe's says their "strategy is evolving".
