Lieberman breaks new ground again

Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman is at it again. According to the BIG3 basketball league website, the Lady Monarch legend is the the first woman to ever become a head coach of a professional sports team. Lieberman will coach Power, a team in the BIG3 league.

The BIG3 is a 3-on-3 league of former NBA players.

Lieberman had already been an assistant coach with the Sacramento Kings and a head coach in the WNBA. She got the job with Power when Clyde Drexler vacated the position to become the BIG3 league commissioner. Of Lieberman, Drexler says, "Nancy is one of the sharpest basketball minds and also one of the most competitive."

In her ODU days, Lieberman was a three-time All-American and part of a national champion team.
