Robbie Ftorek started his pro hockey career in Hampton Roads with the Virginia Wings in 1972. On Thanksgiving day he got the call that brought him back to town as the Admirals newest head coach.
Ftorek has over 400 games of playing experience in the NHL. Later he became a head coach, running the show for the Bruins, Kings and Devils in the NHL.
Also on his resume you'll find that he is in the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.
Ftorek coached his first practice on Tuesday night and hopes to have a plan in place for his first game behind the bench on Friday night at Scope. The Admirals host Reading on Friday and Saturday.
