VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- A busy day at the Regional Training Center in the Beach as the state's best in field hockey were looking to bring home championships. Among them, First Colonial who was making its 7th straight trip to the finals and eyeing a 4th title. They hadn't won since 2015, and would have to wait for another chance as they lost to Westfield 2-1 on Saturday in the Class 6A Finals. The Bulldogs won their 2nd straight championship.

Two other area schools were vying for titles as well. Great Bridge took the Class 4A title with the 3-0 win over Eastern View. That makes back to back titles for the Wildcats. In Class 3A, Tabb was denied a 4th straight championship as they lost to James Monroe 1-0 in overtime. The Tigers finished the year 19-3.
