For Ralph Sampson and Bob Dandridge it was about reaching back and giving back to student/athletes. The two were at the 4th annual Norfolk State University men's basketball tip off dinner in Norfolk on Saturday. Sampson, a former All-American out of the University of Virginia, was a 3-time Naismith, AP Player of the Year for the Cavaliers from 1981-1983. He also played 12 years in the NBA with the Rockets, Warriors, Kings, and Washington Bullets.

Dandridge, a former standout for the Spartans, led NSU during its hay day when they were in the CIAA. He won 2 NBA titles as player with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Bullets.
