The 2018 edition of the Kingsmill Championship runs May 17-20 in Williamsburg. Today was media day for the event. A chance to check in on tournament preparations and get in the LPGA mode.
Recently Kingsmill extended their partnership with the tournament for another three years. They still don't have a title sponsor, but GEICO has come on board as a presenting sponsor.
Tournament officials told us other sponsorships are up, the Pro-Am is sold out of the first time in 10 years and ticket sales are way ahead of schedule.
Lexi Thompson, one of the biggest stars in the LPGA, is the defending champion as she set a tournament record score in 2017.
