The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame announced their largest and perhaps most impressive class of new inductees for 2018.

The headliners include coaching legend Frank Beamer and baseball star Michael Cuddyer from Chesapeake.

But there is much more as this class is deep in talent. Also going in, Rick Mahorn a Hampton University alum and 19 year NBA veteran, Thomas Jones a record setting running back for UVA who had a 12 year NFL career.

They are joined by Kara Lawson from Springfield, VA who was a basketball All-American at Tennessee and WNBA star, longtime college baseball coach Chuck Hartman, D3 basketball standout Megan Silva Schultz and 40 year Roanoke Times veteran reporter Doug Doughty.

Induction ceremonies are schedule for April 7th next year.
