WAVERLY, Va. (WVEC) -- One person is dead following an accident that involved a Waverly Police unit in Sussex County.
Virginia State Police say the accident happened around 1:50 a.m. on Route 460, at the intersection of Route 40. Investigators say us an officer hit 47-year-old Antonio Green, who was in the roadway.
All lanes on Route 460 were shut down for several hours, but as of 6 a.m., State Police said traffic is again moving in both directions.
State Police say the investigation is still ongoing, with several other state agencies involved.
