SUFFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- The westbound lanes of Route 58 have been re-opened following an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck.

The accident happened just after 10 a.m. on Tuesday on Route 58 before the Pitchkettle Road exit.

The tractor-trailer was loaded with steel at the time of the accident.

Two people were injured in the crash. One adult is at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries. Another adult was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The westbound lanes of this stretch of Route 58 were closed for several hours.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
