55th annual Christmas in the Country Open House

The fundraising event, sponsored by the Cape Henry Woman's Club, raises money for student scholarships and community groups in need.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- The 55th annual Christmas in the Country Open House is upon us.

The fundraising event, sponsored by the Cape Henry Woman's Club,  raises money for student scholarships and community groups in need:

  • Four scholarships of $1,000 a year for four years
  • $500 scholarship to a nursing student at Vo-Tech
  • $500 stipend to an outstanding senior at Vo-Tech

The remaining funds distributed to 15-20 community groups, such as the Girl Scouts, SPCA, a veteran's group, Tidewater Winds, St. Mary's Home, or Samaritan House.

The open house will be held Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the home of Kim and Brian Schools. Their home is a reproduction of the George Wythe House in Williamsburg, and will be decorated for the Christmas season.

The address is 1712 Herford Way in Virginia Beach.

Tickets are $10 each.
