VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WVEC) -- Susan G. Komen Tidewater is hosting its annual Race for the Cure next weekend.
The race takes place in support of the organization's goal to find a cure for breast cancer. It is the largest education and fundraising event for breast cancer ever created.
The event supports awareness for the breast cancer movement, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
The Race for the Cure will take place Oct. 15, at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront at Neptune Park. The competitive race will begin at 7:30 a.m. on the boardwalk. The recreational race will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Atlantic Avenue.
