Sisters open boutique in Norfolk to help community of young girls

Gianni, 10, and Tayanni, 6, are two sisters who opened a Norfolk-based boutique where they teach young girls how to become entrepreneurs.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Gianni Graham is a powerhouse at 10-years-old.

You might remember the fifth grader from a story 13News Now did last year on her non-profit organization, Dolls for Dolls.

Just last year, her goal was to collect 1,000 dolls for young girls in foster care. And now, a year later, she's up to 5,000 dolls!

Alongside her sister, 6-year-old Tayanni, the two make a dynamic pair.

At their young ages, they are already co-CEOs of their Norfolk-based store, Mini Mogul Boutique.

The store sets the scene for helping young girls in their community.

Girls can shop for clothes under $25, meet girls their ages at character tea parties, brunches and fashion photo shoots hosted by Gianni and Tayanni at the boutique.

They can also attend teaching workshops about how to become entrepreneurs before adulthood!

Gianni says she loves being an entrepreneur and wants to open boutiques when she's older!

"I wanted to be my own boss and help other people," the 10-year-old says.

But she also wants to take it a step further and hire girls around her age who are in foster care.

"I would want to hire some of the foster girls to work here. And I would want a lot of them to help me with the store."

Tayanni also her own individual business called Lemons & Luv. She operates inside the boutique where she sells lemonade to customers and clients.

Even at just 6-years-old, she understands the power of helping the community. And why exactly does she like working at Mini Mogul?

"Because I can sell my lemonade here and I can help others to aspire to make their own store," Tayanni says.
