GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - County commissioners have delayed a decision on helping a North Carolina city pay for a $30 million stadium.

News outlets report Guilford County commissioners voted 8-1 Thursday to put off a vote on High Point's request for a revenue-sharing agreement for 60-90 days. The commissioners will form a working group to study the project.

High Point has asked the county to direct its share of property tax revenue from the planned development zone to help pay construction debts.

High Point University President Nido Qubein has raised funds to purchase an Atlantic League of Professional Baseball team. High Point City Councilman Jay Wagner says the city will lose the team if the stadium does not open by spring 2019.

Wagner says the city might have to look at other financing options.
