NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Christopher Newport University's Wason Center for Public Policy released its latest poll on the Virginia gubernatorial race on Monday morning.
The poll shows Democrat Ralph Northam holding a 6-point lead over Republican Ed Gillespie, 47-to-41 percent.
Northam has strong support in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads. Gillespie's strongest support is in the southwest part of the state, and the Richmond area.
The survey's margin of error is +/- 3.7%
