Admirals Calder Cup Champs celebrate with 5 year reunion

NORFOLK, Va.- Oh how time flies when you're the champs. A special moment Saturday afternoon from Waterside District in downtown Norfolk as several members of the 2012 Admirals celebrated with a 5 year reunion for team that won the Calder Cup Championship of the American Hockey League. It was a pact the team made after winning the title. "The last night we were together in 2012, we had dinner at Bodgea's", says head coach, Jon Cooper who's now with the Tampa Bay Lightning. "When the first guy was walking up, he picked up the Cup and said, '5 years from now let's meet right here.'"

A large crowd that started from the Harbor Club wrapped around the corner and on to the pedestrian overpass on Waterside Drive waited to see the team that meant so much to them and vice versa. "It's amazing to be back", says former Admiral, Mark Barberio who was apart the squad that set a record win streak of 28 straight games. Among the other former players, Cory Conacher, Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat, Richard Panik, and J.P. Cote. "Everyone wanted to do this. It was a passion to them to come back", says Cooper.
