Former #1 pick on target for the O's

For any first round draft pick there is plenty of pressure that goes with the high expectations. Tides outfielder DJ Stewart, seems to know how to handle it. Stewart told us, "I've dealt with it the only way I know how, be myself, honestly. There's been ups and downs throughout my entire professional career, but that's the game of baseball."

The Orioles drafted Stewart in the first round, number 25 overall, in the 2015 draft. He was coming out of Florida State where he put in three impressive seasons.

Stewart was also a star football player in high school. His high school teams won 3 state football championships and 2 more in baseball.

So far this season, Stewart is leading the Tides in runs scored and has a .292 batting average.

The highlight of the season was when he hit a walk-off homer the opening weekend against Gwinnett.
