According to Hampton Police, dispatchers received a call of a shooting at 12:31 a.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Patterson Avenue. When officers arrived, they found three male victims in the side yard of a home. All three were suffering from gunshot wounds.
21-year-old Devyn Andre Reed of Hampton died at the scene.
"I can't believe a wonderful person like that is gone," said Edmond Benjamin, Reed's uncle.
Two other adult male victims, a 19-year-old Hampton man and a 21-year-old Wakefield man, were transported to a hospital for treatment. Their injuries are considered to be non-life threatening.

While at the scene, detectives received reports that two more people, a man and a woman, had walked into a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
When James Wright arrived on Patterson Avenue after the shooting, he found a bullet hole in his church's window. Wright said he has hope for his typically quiet community.
"Even though something horrible has happened - that nobody really intended for it to end like this," said Wright. "That's my hope."
Police tell 13News Now the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, but that it appears that there was a large gathering or party taking place when the shots were fired.
Family believes someone recently threatened Reed's life.
"They ambushed him, and they shot him down like a dog," said Benjamin.
