Autopsy: Ashanti Billie's death caused by undetermined trauma

The medical examiner has released the autopsy for the 19-year-old college student

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- Ashanti Billie's autopsy report has been released and the cause of death was undetermined trauma and she was clean of alcohol and drugs.

Ashanti, the 19-year-old woman whose body was found in North Carolina 11 days after she went missing from Virginia.

A retired Navy veteran has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of Ashanti Billie.

The Mecklenburg County M E Office preformed the autopsy on September 29. The report states that her body was decomposed, and partially skelotonized when her body was found.

The report further stated that there were an abundant insect larvae present in varying staged of maturation, and shallow skin ulceration at the left buttock.

Items preserved as evidence included clothing, pulled pubic hair, head hair, jewelry, fingernail swabs, teeth swabs, breast swabs, wrist swabs, rectal swabs and finger prints.
